Hariku V2 — Community Code of Conduct
Last Updated: July 2026

========================================================================
1. PURPOSE
========================================================================

The Hariku community exists to build and share tools that make
calendar management accessible to everyone, especially screen reader
users. This Code of Conduct establishes the standards of behavior
that make our community welcoming, inclusive, and productive for all
participants.

We are committed to providing a harassment-free experience regardless
of disability, age, body size, ethnicity, gender identity, level of
experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or
sexual identity and orientation.

========================================================================
2. OUR VALUES
========================================================================

The Hariku community is guided by these core values:

    Accessibility First
        Everything we build serves users who rely on assistive
        technology. Accessibility is not an afterthought — it is our
        primary design constraint and our reason for existing.

    Inclusivity
        We welcome contributors of all backgrounds, experience
        levels, and abilities. Whether you are a seasoned developer
        or writing your first extension, you belong here.

    Constructive Collaboration
        We build better software by working together openly, sharing
        knowledge generously, and approaching disagreements as
        opportunities to learn.

    Respect and Empathy
        We treat every community member with dignity. We listen
        before judging, assume good intent, and remember that behind
        every username is a real person.

========================================================================
3. EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
========================================================================

All community members are expected to:

    1. Be respectful and considerate in all interactions, whether on
       the forum, in code reviews, or in private correspondence.

    2. Provide constructive feedback. Critique ideas and code, not
       people. Offer suggestions alongside criticism.

    3. Help newcomers. Answer questions patiently, point people to
       documentation, and remember that everyone starts somewhere.

    4. Give credit where it is due. Acknowledge contributions,
       attribute code you build upon, and celebrate the work of
       others.

    5. Focus on accessibility in all work. Test extensions with
       screen readers, write meaningful labels, and consider the
       needs of users with diverse disabilities.

    6. Follow the Extension Developer Guidelines and Store Submission
       Guidelines when publishing extensions.

    7. Report issues and concerns through proper channels rather
       than resorting to public callouts.

========================================================================
4. UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR
========================================================================

The following behaviors will not be tolerated:

    - Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind,
      including but not limited to offensive comments related to
      disability, gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

    - Trolling, deliberate provocation, or sustained disruption of
      community discussions.

    - Publishing or threatening to publish another person's private
      information (addresses, phone numbers, etc.) without their
      explicit consent.

    - Submitting malicious code disguised as legitimate extensions,
      including code that exfiltrates data, damages files, or
      compromises system security.

    - Deliberately breaking accessibility features in extensions or
      contributions, or releasing updates that remove previously
      working accessibility support.

    - Spamming the extension store with duplicate, low-effort, or
      deceptive submissions.

    - Retaliating against anyone who reports a violation of this
      Code of Conduct.

========================================================================
5. SCOPE
========================================================================

This Code of Conduct applies to all community spaces and
interactions, including:

    - The Hariku forum at https://sp.novarealm.cloud/forum/hariku
    - Extension store submissions and reviews at novarealm.cloud
    - Code contributions and pull requests
    - Email correspondence related to Hariku development
    - Any other space where you represent or participate in the
      Hariku community

This Code applies equally to all participants: users, extension
developers, reviewers, and core team members.

========================================================================
6. ENFORCEMENT
========================================================================

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of
Conduct, please report it:

    Email:   terabase06@gmail.com
    Subject: CODE OF CONDUCT — [Brief description]

All reports will be reviewed promptly and handled confidentially. The
identity of reporters will not be disclosed without their consent.

Consequences for violations are determined by severity and may
include:

    Warning
        A private written warning with an explanation of why the
        behavior was inappropriate and a request to stop.

    Temporary Ban
        Temporary suspension from community spaces, the extension
        store, or both. Duration is determined by the severity of
        the violation.

    Permanent Ban
        Permanent removal from all community spaces and revocation
        of store publishing privileges. Reserved for repeated or
        egregious violations.

The core team reserves the right to remove any extension, comment,
or contribution that violates this Code of Conduct without prior
notice.

========================================================================
7. ACCESSIBILITY PLEDGE
========================================================================

Hariku exists because mainstream tools failed to serve screen reader
users. Our community is built on the understanding that many of our
users are blind or visually impaired, and that accessible software
is not optional — it is essential.

We therefore hold ourselves to a higher standard:

    - Extensions that deliberately harm accessibility — by removing
      screen reader labels, introducing inaccessible interfaces, or
      breaking keyboard navigation — are grounds for immediate and
      permanent ban from the store and community spaces.

    - Developers are expected to test their extensions with at least
      one screen reader (NVDA or JAWS) before submission.

    - Accessibility regressions in updates will be treated as
      high-priority issues requiring prompt resolution.

    - Community members who advocate for accessibility improvements
      are to be supported, not dismissed.

This is not merely a policy. It is a promise to the users who depend
on Hariku every day.
